Imvelo Lodges and Camps Zimbabwe

Ilala Lodge - your transit night on arrival in Victoria Falls

The perfect base for exploring all Victoria Falls has to offer, Ilala Lodge provides distinguished yet affordable accommodation in a gracious and secluded ambiance. Ilala Lodge offers 73 rooms with en suite bathrooms with separate shower, air conditioning, overhead fans, satellite TV, and individual coffee and tea facilities. The rooms are spacious with railway sleeper teak furnishings and patio doors leading onto either an open lawn or a balcony where you are afforded a view of the spray of the falls from the upper-level rooms. The hotel is ideally situated and is the closest hotel to the Falls as well as the town center. Wild animals often graze on the hotel lawns with the spray of the falls in the background.

Nehimba Lodge - 3 nights in the Northern Hwange.

Nehimba is located in a large private concession in the game-rich northern region of the Hwange National Park.

The nine spacious cabins on raised teak decks are thatched for coolness in the hotter months. All rooms overlook the lodge waterhole, which is used by wildlife throughout the day in the dry season. The camp is fully solar-powered, and all rooms have an en-suite bathroom with an outdoor shower option. The open-fronted main lodge overlooks the best pool in Hwange, as the elephants that drink at it will demonstrate - dining with elephants is our signature Nehimba experience!

Activities include game drives, full-day excursions, night drives, and walks to better experience the signs, sounds, and scents of the wilderness with your experienced guide.

Camelthorn Lodge - 4 nights in the Southern Hwange

Named for the ancient camelthorn tree it features, this lodge nestles in pristine woodland bordering Hwange National Park. Both Camelthorn Lodge and the new Imvelo Ngamo Rhino Sanctuary surrounding it occupy communal land, and the local people are our partners in both developments.

Eight secluded forest villas are well-appointed with sliding glass doors, fireplaces for the cooler winter months, and downstairs verandas. An upstairs balcony accessed by an outside spiral staircase can be used as a romantic sleep-out, and 4 of the rooms feature an upstairs splash pool annex. The main lodge has expansive dining, bar, and lounge areas with al fresco dining options under the camelthorn tree.

Activities include game drives and walks led by passionate and knowledgeable guides, watching wildlife from our sunken hide, meeting the people of Ngamo village, and tracking our first two reintroduced white rhinos with the dedicated Cobras scouts who protect them.

Chundu Island Lodge - 2 nights just out side Victoria Falls

Located 21km upstream from Victoria Falls, Chundu Island is, without a doubt, one of the most picturesque river islands on the Zambezi River and sets the tone for a tranquil and relaxed island safari in the heart of the Zambezi National Park.

Chundu Island is an exclusive lodge with sole access to the beautiful 1.4km long island on the mighty Zambezi River. The lodge is constructed in the shade of magnificent riverine trees blending with nature, offering spacious rooms with wide vistas over the river into the Zambezi National Park or the banks of the river on the Zambian side. Enjoy stunning sunsets, cocktails, and a large swimming pool overlooking the river.

Victoria Falls River Lodge - an optional upgrade

Nestled on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River, within the Zambezi National Park, Victoria Falls River Lodge offers a luxurious upgrade for your final two nights. Wonderful wildlife viewing opportunities and easy access to the historic town of Victoria Falls and the opportunity to visit the world-famous Falls and explore this incredible natural wonder on foot are highlights of your stay.

The lodge boasts 13 Luxury Tented Suites (each with a private deck and plunge pool), 6 secluded Island Treehouse Suites (sheltered amidst the treetops of the private Kandahar Island), spacious open-plan dining, lounge, and bar areas, an onsite fitness center and the indulgent Africology affiliated Toa Spa.

The Lodge is ideally located for exploring Victoria Falls and combines the African Safari experience with one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World – the iconic Victoria Falls – the spray of which can be seen in the distance.
