Frequently Asked Questions

When should I go?

Orchids grow from sea level to the high puna páramo at 13,000 ft. Most of them will be blooming at the end of the wet season in the region we visit. This will be during the last two weeks of March and the first week of April.

What will I see?

Peru is a one of the most ecologically diverse countries in the world. 82% of all ecosystems of the world are present here. We will concentrate in and around the Cusco-Vilcabamba region, where the Andes meet the Amazon—a region of grand landscapes where besides the astonishing variety of orchids we can also explore the heartland of the Inca.

How can I be sure this trip is right for me?

This orchid quest offers a good balance of activity, education, phenomenal cuisine and luxury combined with adventure. We recommend a good level of fitness. Cuzco is at 11,000 ft elevation and the exploration hikes can be strenuous, sometimes uphill with some steep portions. Good balance, health and proper footwear are essential for maximizing your adventure.
