Like in the Galapagos Islands, the flora and fauna evolved in an isolated environment, free from humans or land mamillian predators. The largest variety of whales and dolphins in the world can be found in the Sea of Cortez. The Sea is a UNESCO World Heritage site to protect the unique wildlife.
