12-Day Adventure

Santiago, Punta Arenas, and seven days at Explora Lodge. Escape the holiday madness—run away with us to the "ends of the earth!" After a day and a night in Santiago, Chile, we fly south to Punta Arenas to see nesting penguins before heading to Torres del Paine Park for a superb week at Explora Lodge.

Days at Explora are filled with guided hikes, walks, horseback rides and restful time with a massage at the spa or in your room. You pick the daily activity that fits your mood. The views in all directions, even from your room, are spell-binding. Dining (informal dress) is paired with native and international wines. No one is ever ready to leave.

Itinerary Summary

Day 1

Depart from US for Santiago Chile.

Day 2

Arrive Santiago. Tour Santiago, overnight.

Day 3

Morning walking tour of Santiago. Afternoon free.

Day 4

Fly to Punta Arenas. Explore Punta Arenas and visit a large colony of Magellanic penguins.

Day 5

Depart for the trip to Parque El Torres del Paine and Explora Lodge. An optional hike follows lunch at the lodge.

Day 6-10

An unparalleled Patagonia experience. Our days at Explora are spent on hikes, learning about the wildlife, horseback riding and dining well. All adventures are included.

Day 11-12

Depart Explora and travel home via Punta Arenas and Santiago.

Not Included

Not included are any airfare, airport taxes and fees; tips for guides or naturalists (at your discretion); alcoholic beverages; excess baggage charges, or other items of a personal nature.

Price also excludes any insurance coverage for trip cancellation-interruption, travel accident, travel delay, baggage delay or baggage theft (we recommend you obtain coverage for these items), medical or hospitalization expenses.
