There, our two nights spent in charming accommodations at the Royal Palm Resort Hotel are a welcome introduction to the pace of the Islands.

Our extensive exploration of Santa Cruz Island includes a visit to the Charles Darwin Research Station where we learn about conservation issues and tortoise hatching and rearing programs. We explore the highlands to visit giant tortoises in their natural habitat. Then we hike to the beautiful white sand beach of Tortuga Bay, all before boarding our yacht Integrity for a week's cruise through the Galapagos.

Royal Galapagos Itinerary Summary

Day 1

Arrive in Quito, Ecuador

Day 2-3

The Galápagos! We have two days exploring the varied ecology of Santa Cruz island, while staying at the Royal Palm Resort Hotel in the lush highlands. During the course of our stay, we will hike in the rainforest, visit giant tortoises in their natural habitat, visit the Charles Darwin Research Station, stroll Puerto Ayora, explore lava tubes and sink holes, and hike to the beautiful white sand beach of Tortuga Bay. We'll swim and snorkel, dine well and relax.

Day 4-10

On the evening of Day 4 we board our yacht Integrity for dinner and set sail on our Island cruise. We live aboard the yacht and spend as much time exploring the islands as park rules permit. Each night we travel on to the next island.

Day 11

We have breakfast on board Integrity, then disembark and fly back to Quito for dinner and overnight.

Day 12

Depart for home, or on to other adventures.

Fuel Charge

On February 25, 2008 the Ecuadorian Government imposed a substantial fuel surcharge upon all Galapagos yacht and ship departures after June 1, 2008.

All Royal Galapagos trips after September 1, 2009 include the fuel charge (until further notice).
