Origin of Species

11-day adventure

We journey back in time, to a remote place like no other, for an experience that will forever change the way you view life on this planet. We hike, swim, snorkel and meander among birds and animals that have no fear of us, that return our curiosity as we enter their world. Come home renewed!

In order to reduce the impact on several highly visited sites, new Galápagos National Park rules prohibit a vessel from visiting any particular visitor site more than once every two weeks. We have selected what we think are the best possible two itineraries for you, which will run on alternating weeks. One focuses more on the western islands with several visits on Isabela; the other focuses on the eastern islands with several visits on San Cristobal.

To learn more about the Western and Eastern cruising routes, please visit Our Galápagos Cruising Routes.

One thing that will not change is that we will start in Galápagos with an overnight stay on Santa Cruz Island. We visit the Darwin Research Station and the Santa Cruz Highlands before we board our yacht so we can have an entire extra day to spend at visitor sites out in the islands.

If you are unsure which you might prefer, we'd be happy to help you. For the ultimate Galápagos experience, cruise for two weeks and do both itineraries!

Itinerary Summary

Day 1

Day 2

Fly to Galápagos Islands. Visit Santa Cruz Island's lush highlands en route to to lunch. After lunch, search for giant tortoises in the wild and learn about the endemic plant species. Welcome dinner and overnight.

Day 3

Visit lava tunnels en route to the Charles Darwin Research Station to see its' conservation and hatching programs. Lunch in Puerto Ayora. Board the yacht at dinnertime. Start our Island cruise!

Day 4-9

Live aboard the yacht and spend as much time exploring the islands as park rules permit. We have at least two shore visits each day, timed to avoid the large cruise ship groups. We have several chances to swim and snorkel during our week. Each night we travel on to another unique island.

Please see Our Galápagos Cruising Routes for a list of islands visited on the Western and Eastern routes.

Day 10

Have breakfast on board the yacht, then disembark and fly back to Quito for dinner and overnight.

Day 11

Depart for home, or on to other adventures.
